Country Rumble 2023 Report

On September 17, we held our 4th annual Fall fundraiser, Country Rumble - presented by the Co-operators, Brad Barbour Insurance Group. For the first time since its inception, the event was hosted at The Arboretum, University of Guelph.

The sunny Fall morning welcomed 67 participants eager to Run, Walk, or Ride for Mental Health. The group of 80km riders enjoyed a scenic southbound route through Puslinch, enjoying a multi-surface ride through local trail systems, shared pathways, and quiet country roads. The trails of The Arboretum provided the perfect backdrop for runners and walkers alike to complete their chosen distance of 2.5km, 5km, or 10km. Surrounded by nature and an incredible community of support, all those who participated in the Run, Walk, or Ride for Mental Health finished with a smile.

Throughout the day, 250+ attendees enjoyed connecting with our community as they discovered new ways to engage in local nature-based activities, devoured delicious food, and moved along to the incredible music provided by local musicians, including Dan McLean Jr, Broadband, Morgan Lee, Michelle Munroe, and the Grand River Band.

The event raised a net amount of $31,250! All of the proceeds from Country Rumble will be invested in the sustainable growth of our evidenced-based programs. Up and Running Guelph is actively working to expand our programs to meet to growing need for additional mental health support in our community.

Our vision to create a large event that celebrated nature-based movement while highlighting local treasures is one of pride and gratitude. As an organization, we are both humbled and overjoyed by the encouragement we received from members of our community every step of the way. Country Rumble, presented by the Co-operators, Brad Barbour Insurance Group, was made possible by the generous support of our sponsors, community partners, volunteers and event attendees.

Thank you to everyone involved, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
