Gabby Richardson

Volunteer Program Manager

I'm excited to be part of the Up and Running Guelph team and support our volunteers. I am passionate about volunteerism and I am a firm believer in its ability to transform the individual and community. I have worked on projects supporting communities in Nicaragua, Ecuador, Cameroon, Papua New Guinea, and Ontario. Through these experiences I discovered the creativity, resilience, and empathy of the human spirit.

I am passionate about anthropology. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and a Master of Arts degree in Public Issues Anthropology from the University of Guelph. I am particularly interested in environmental anthropology and multispecies ethnography which focuses on human relationships with the environment and non-humans. This aligns with Up and Running Guelph's mission to provide nature-based walking and running programs to improve mental health.

In my spare time I enjoy walking the Speed River trail, cooking, reading, writing, and travelling.
